Denizli

Denizli, ok. 300-thousandths, a large agro-industrial city, for most tourists it is a transfer point on the way to the famous Pamukkale. This typically provincial Turkish city offers no attractions, and it can serve us as good (because it's cheap) a base to visit the limestone terraces and the ancient city (especially in high season, when the Pamukkale hotels are bursting at the seams). If we have more time to use in Denizli, we can visit the Ataturk and Ethnographic Museum at Istasyon Cad., at the junction with Kayalik Cad., approx. 1 km from the train station. Decorated in a lonely place, corner, a pink-painted house, the museum is open every day (except Mondays) in hours. 9.00 – 12.00, 13.00 – 17.00, introduction: 0,7 USD. Harvest not very large, but for enthusiasts, they can be quite interesting. Once we install in one of the hotels, let's leave our luggage and go to Pamukkale early in the morning.

Drive, orientation, connections

In Denizli, we are only interested in the vicinity of the bus station, and the district extending to the south of them. Its western border will be the main shopping street of the city for us- Station Cad. (ul. Dworcowa) . It is in this district that we can find hotels and lodgings needed to establish a camp. If we head west from the bus station (Izmir Yolu wide through road), w 2 min walk to the train station. Just from him, straight south, goes on Istasyon Cad.

From Denizli, we can easily get to the main cities of Turkey, both by bus, and by train, with the fact that, of course, the railway offer is much poorer. We will get to Izmir by train (by Selcuk) for approx. 3,5 USD, according, is it a coffee machine, or a train bus. There are four trains a day to Izmir (o 5.00, 6.13, 8.55 i 13.00). In addition, there is a direct connection to Istanbul in the form of Pamukkale Ex. (the train leaves at 17.00, and the journey continues 15 time.) A first class ticket costs 10 USD, second – 6,5 USD. To go by train to Ankara, you have to change in Kutahya. The bus station offers us many more possibilities – some of the more important towns are listed in the box below.

Accommodation

We have a choice of several cheaper or more expensive concentrated hotels, as already mentioned, in the area south of the bus station. There are several hotels of the lowest standard in the city, but they are in the wild’ district and it would be difficult to find them, therefore, it was limited to giving only one, most accessible. Deciding to stay in hotels of the 'for undemanding' category’ and "cheap”, let's remember, to bargain.

Gastronomy

Lots of cheap eateries are concentrated around the square of the bus station, all of a similar standard and prices. In addition, there are several nice places to eat on Istasyon Cad. (especially in its southern part, after the intersection with the Ataturk Museum).

Informant

There used to be a tourist information point at the bus station, but because nobody looked there, the facility was closed. We can obtain some information at the Ataturk Museum. Numerous banks with 24/7 ATMs are located on Istasyon Cad. and to the southeast of the intersection with Kayalik Cad. At Istasyon Cad. We will also come across several bureaux de change (dóvíz), but of course we can also exchange the currency at the bank. Altin Internet Cafe (0,5 USD/hour) it is situated south-east of the station, next to the Demasus Hotel, which is visible from a distance.
