Kastamonu – communication,accommodation,gastronomy

Drive, orientation, connections.

You can come to Kastamonu from the east, that is, from Sinopu (7 USD, 3,5 time ), from the west (Safranbolu) or from Ankara. The city is not an important transportation hub, because it is somewhat out of the way, ok. 65 km north of the main Istanbul route – Northeast Turkey.

The bus station is close to the center. After exiting the main street, in the middle of which the river flows, we head left (on the east). The city stretches along the east axis – West, along the river. The main street is called differently on the northern side of the river (it is on this side that the otogar stands), or else in the south. From the station, turn left into the city center (not crossing the water), we are moving Yalcin Cad., which becomes Plevne Cad., and behind the town hall in Ataturk Cad. On the other bank, the Kisla Cad., later Cumhuriyet Cad., and finally Arac Cad. It is difficult to define the city center exactly, but the sprawling Cumhuriyet Meydam with a large government building could be regarded as such. Opposite him, on the other side of the river, the city goes south, there are monuments and a visible hill with a castle. East of the Hotel, Idrisoglu branches off to the south of Cumhuriyet Cad. another important street of the city – Belediye Cad.,

From Kastamonu you can go directly to Ankara (5 USD, 4 time ), Istanbul (14 USD, 7 time.), and nawet Izmir (17 USD, 13 time.). We will take the bus to Sinopu (7 USD, 3,5 time.) i Samsung (8 USD, 5 time). Minibuses run several times a day to Safranbolu (3,5 USD, 2,5 time ), sometimes you have to change in Karabuk.
