Safranbolu – Gastronomy

There are quite a few nice eateries in the Carsi district and even more cafes and tea houses. Undoubtedly, the manti dish reigns supreme in the city, known as Turkish ravioli. These are dumplings stuffed with meat or cheese and covered with butter and cold yoghurt.

Carsi district

Kadioglu Sehzade Sofrasi, on the south-west side of Kazdaglioglu Meydam, near the tourist information office. Nice restaurant with a courtyard, in the center of which there is a fountain. A two-course meal costs money 3-8 USD. The specialty of the establishment is Kuyu kebap, that is, specially prepared mutton. Nice pide for the price 1,5 USD.

Meydan Cafe, Arasta Sok Back. 1, right next to the mosque, corner building. Nice restaurant with a not too rich menu, which includes a good manti (1,2 USD), several kinds of soups (0,7 USD), chips, toast, hamburgers.

Mediterranean Restaurant, Arasta Arkasi Sok., obok Meydan Cafe. This is a better restaurant with a wide offer. Prices slightly lower than in Kadioglu S.. table, and the food is tastier.

Central Restaurant, Come on, Carsi 1, south of Cinci Hamami, tel.: (370) 725 14 78. Fairly cheap, standard locator. The soup costs money 0,5 USD, and a portion of yemek approx. 1 USD, therefore the price of a two-course meal should not exceed 2 USD.

Urfa Table, Sadri Artunc Cad. 10, obokTurkiye ls Bank. One of the better restaurants in Kirankóy offering many kinds of kebab and pide and lahmacuna, and good cakes for dessert.

Ozgun Picnic Restaurant, Sadri Artunc Cad., next to the town hall. It does not stand out with anything special; low prices.

Bathhouses

The only bathhouse in Safranbolu adapted to the bath (that is, after a major renovation) there is, of course, Cinci Hamami. Bathing costs here 3,5 USD, washing – 1 USD, and massage -1,4 USD. In fact, jack na Safranbolu, these are not very high prices
