Sivas

Drive, orientation, connections

According to the direction and plan of our route, we will come to Sivasu from Kayseri. We can use both the train, as well as the bus. We can also easily get here from other cities, especially those in the immediate vicinity of Sivasu.

The bus station is located approx. 3 km south of the center – if service is not substituted, it's to get out of there, we have to go out to the bus stop on the main road to the city (Kayseri Ring Road, west of the terminal) or at a stop next to Kale Camii (mosque visible from the station). We get into the vehicle with the sign Yenisehir or Universitesi. Both dolmus, as well as city buses will take us to the main city square- Konak Square. The train station is a bit closer, but for a pedestrian, it's also a nice piece, therefore it is better to use a dolmus or a bus going along Istasyon Cad. on the above-mentioned square.

Od Konak Square, on which stands a large building of the municipal authorities, all the main arteries of the city depart. The most important is the south-west route to Istasyon Cad. and Ata-turk Cad , where most of the hotels are concentrated; at the same time it is the main shopping street of the city.

We will get from Sivasu to the most important cities of Turkey by bus, even those in the far west. There are several connections a day with Istanbul and Ankara, but with Izmir or Antalya there are only a few. On the east, similar to Ankara, we'll get in in no time. We'll get north just as quickly, to Amasya or Samsun, turn south (Adana) buses run rarely. Bus offices at Ataturk Cad., adjacent to the main square. Another grouping is near the Ataturk Cad intersection. z Arab Jeyh Cad. (min. Metro, Peace,Sivas). One more Metro office can be found at Istasyon Cad ., opposite the hospital. We can get to the otogoe with a dolmus leaving the square at the back of Sifahiye Medresesi (0,3 USD) or by bus from Konak Meydani (napis Umersitesi).

As for the train, it is in Sivasa that we even have a lot of possibilities, because the city lies at the crossroads of railway routes on the east axes – west and north – south. So, first of all, you can go by train to Istanbul from here (Dogu Ex., Guney Ex., Van Golu Ex. – all three trains leave around midnight: Guney on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and Van Gólia on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday; 7,5 USD, 21 time.), on the east – to Karsu ( Dogu Ex. – departure at 5.45; 5,5 USD, 17 time.) by Erzurum (4 USD, 12 time.), to Tatvan (Van Golu Ex. – departure at 19.15 on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday; 4,5 USD, 18 time.), to Diyarbakir (or further to Kurtalan; Giiney Ex. – runs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 4 USD, 12 time.; 4 September Blue Train), do Samsun (one train a day; 4 USD, 9 time.).

We can get to the station by a dolmus departing from the square at the back of the Camii Belt (at Ataturk Cad.), what costs 0,3 USD, or by bus from Konak Meydani. Both vehicles bear the word Istasyon, but just in case, it's also worth asking.

Accommodation

Most of the hotels are clustered around Ataturk Cad. and in its vicinity. In Sivasa, a whole range of accommodation offers of each category awaits us, but there aren't many hotels, Sivas is not a tourist center either, nor a great metropolis.

Gastronomy

Like hotels, so eateries are concentrated at Ataturk Cad., which does not mean at all, that we won't find them elsewhere in the city. A cluster of cheaper locals at the Ataturk Cad. z Old Town Street. (the same street, where the Madimak hotel is situated) will provide us with the comfort of choice. Several nice pubs are located around Selcuklu Park.

Bathhouses

One of the better baths, at least because of the status of a monument, is Kursunlu Hamami (description – tooth. s. 514), situated at Arap Seyh Cad., in front of the Ahi EmirAhmed tomb. A bath costs money here 2 USD, washing - $ 1, and massage - $ 3.5. Separate entrances for men and women Meydan Hamami is located at Semsi Sivasi Cad. (block atatatiirk Cad.) opposite the Ak hotel. The prices here are similar to those in Kursunlu, but massage is a bit cheaper. At Hotel Ak you can use Ak Hamami, which does not differ in price from its predecessors, but it does not live up to their climate – it's too modern. The last bathhouse, what you can suggest, there is Mehmet Hamami at Kepenek Cad., that is, on the same street as the linen museum. I tu te same ceny, and only one entrance.

Informant

The tourist information office is located in the local government building on Konak Meydani. It is open at the same hours as the office. As is the Turkish custom, we get a not very detailed map here, but also a slightly better folder.
