Animals' world

Animals' world

The fauna of Turkey is extremely interesting, because it abounds in species of both the European type, and Asian. The northern regions are the richest in animals and birds, because the lush vegetation of these areas is very conducive to the development of the animal state. There are wild cats here, wolves, martens and wild boars. It is not uncommon to stray to the herd of sheep, goat or cow bear. Gazelles and antelopes can be found in the south-eastern part of Turkey, in years 50. even a headless lion and a leopard were seen there. Deer and Sami also live here, and in the mountains many marmots. In central Anatolia, there are jackals and striped hyenas. In addition, it is not uncommon to hear the roar of a wild donkey among the steppes. It's no art to meet a hare, same as a fox. In addition, various varieties of rodents are widespread throughout the country. Man breeds horses, buffaloes, cows, sheep, goats and camels.

The water world is also not too bad. Turtles deserve special attention, inhabiting the southern seas, but not infrequently also the waters inside the country. Besides, tortoises run by us very often – to the best of your strength, of course – way. Seals and sea lions swim in the seas. Tuna dominates among the fish, flounders and sardines, and between the reefs, multicolored "noble" fish swim, which we can admire while diving.

The skies are invaded by lots of birds. The ubiquitous eagles reign, hawks and buzzards. Falcons also hunt game, and vultures eat carrion. You can also see storks in the sky (also in sockets, sometimes in the city center), eagle owls, crows, jackdaws and starlings.

Among the fields and wetlands there are black grouse, wild turkeys, pheasants and partridges. Swans are swimming in the water, crane, goose and duck. Seagulls and terns scream at the seaside. Only in summer, in the south, flamingos appear.

Unfortunately, all kinds of reptiles are no worse in Turkey (we exclude from this fascinating, colorful lizards), amphibians and hideous insects (we exclude beautiful butterflies and interesting dragonflies). Vipers and poisonous snakes are common in every region without exception, although, of course, in the steppes and mountains of central and south-eastern Anatolia, the probability of getting acquainted with such “"fun" grows at least twice. But it doesn't stop there. A scorpion may also stand in our way, but only in the central one, southern and south-eastern Turkey. Moreover, most species are non-poisonous, which does not mean, however, that we should not beware of them. Tarantulas have also been seen near the Syrian steppes.
