Amasya – drive,accommodation,gastronomy

Drive, orientation, connections.

There are several buses a day from Tokat to Amasya (4 USD, 2 at), and you can also get here from the most important cities in the region, that is mainly from Samsunu or Sivasu (both by bus, and by train).

The bus station is located approx. 2 km northeast of the city center, therefore, from the side of Tokatu, it's worth going to the station – better to ask the driver, to drop us off downtown, at the main square – Maydam government, which we recognize by the horse statue of Ataturk and the nearby mosque. However, if we find ourselves on the otogar, perhaps a minibus will take us to the center as part of sewsu, what if not, then we are left with the dolmus. If you want to reach the center from the train station, we have to turn left after leaving the building, come to the river, cross the bridge and turn left again.

The main Hukumet square connects the two most important streets of the city: Mustafa Kemal Paja Cad. (Buses pass this street, it is also called Mustafa Kemal Cad ), stretching from the southwest to the northeast, adjacent to the south side of the square, and parallel to it, adjacent to the north side, running just above the Ziya Paja Bulv River. The river divides the city into two parts, but the northern one is much smaller, because it is situated between the river and the rocky mountain, where you can see carved tombs, and at the top a castle.

Buses run frequently, because Amasya is on the Sivas trail – Samsun, but therefore the choice of direction is actually limited to the north route only – south. It doesn't, that we won't get to Istanbul from here (18 USD, 11 at) or Ankara (9 USD, 5,5 at ), which lie to the west, but that's only why, and they are very important cities in Turkey. Besides, every bus from Samsun to the far south or east passes through Amasya, which means, that you can get from here, for example, do Malatyi (14 USD, 8,5 at) Buses to Samsun (3,5 USD, 2,5 at) i Sivasu (8 USD, 4 at) are very common. If we want to have a wider choice of connections, then we should get to the city of Merzifon, which lies at the intersection of routes north – south and east – West. We can get to the station by dolmus from the stops located at Ataturk Cad. (0,35 USD). We can find several offices of transport companies in the city (m in. Tokat Itimat czy Amasya Itimat lub Yeni Amasya Tur) at Ataturk Cad., near the Mosque of Beyazid II.

We only get to Samsun by train (2 USD, 5 at) and Sivasu (1,5 USD, 4 at); to get to the station, we have to cross the river (cross the night shore) and head west (left).
