Kusadasi

The further itinerary is to visit Priene, Miletus and Didyma, that's why we have to get to Sóke, unless we decide to rent a car. A dozen minibuses leave the terminal every day to Soke (1 USD, 30 min). From Kusadasi we will also get to more important cities on the coast, but not always directly. Often we will have to change to Sóke, if we're going south, or Selcuku or Izmir, if we're headed north. Do ruin Priene, Miletus and Didim and to Ephesus depart from the station by minibuses that take adventurous tourists. The price of such a trip varies within limits 15 – 20 USD per person.

From the ferry dock you can sail to the Greek island of Samos (two ferries a day). A return ticket costs approx. 30 USD.

Accommodation

Hotels and guesthouses of various standards are situated not only in the very center, but also beyond it. However, we will focus on those closer to the bay, where it will be close to the beaches, to eateries and shopping area. Due to rather wealthy tourists coming here, in the city, it would seem, There should be no hotels in the "undemanding" category” – but appearances are deceptive.

Gastronomy

Knajpek i lokant, as befits a tourist destination, there is a lot in Kusadasi. But for the same reason they are more expensive than e.g.. in Selcuk or even in Istanbul. Therefore, to find a place with decent prices, we need to look around a bit. Of course, we will eat well-prepared fish in almost every restaurant.

Bathhouses

So is everything in Kusadasi, also the baths are expensive here. In the popular Kaleici Hamami (by the way, the bathhouse from the 17th century) we will pay for the set 14 USD. You can come in a mixed company. The bathhouse is located at the rear of the Okuz Mehmet Pasa mosque. The tourist information office is located near the ferry terminal, next to Liman Sok. 13, west of the caravanserai, tel.: (256) 614 11 03. It is open every day (except weekends) in hours. 8.00 -12.00,13.00 -18.00 (off season until 17.00).

Most banks, where we can exchange the currency or take lira from an ATM, is situated on Barbaros Hayrettin Cad., Health Cad.. and Sabuncali Sok. These include T.C.. Ziraat bank, Halbbank, Pamuk-bank. We will also change the money at the post office, which is located near Okuz Mehmet Paja Camii, also on Barbaros Hayrettin Cad. There is also a Telekom building with telephone boxes outside. We will check e-mail. w Kismet Internet Cafe (Liman Sok., large building next to the caravanserai, on the third floor, 1,4 USD/hour), w Efe Internet Cafe (Sabuncali Sok., 1 USD/hour) or at Elit Internet Cafe (in a small street with the Okuz Mehmet Paja mosque, next to Kaleici Hamami, 1,4 USD/hour).

When visiting a national park or ancient cities: Priene, A car turns out to be useful in Miletus and Didim, which can be rented from one of the many car rental companies in Kusadasi, like for example. Galileo Tours, Yildirim Cad. (near the intersection with Barbaros Bayrettin Cad., next to the Ali Usta restaurant). Several brands to choose from, m.in. Renault Twingo (whole day – 35 USD), Fiat Palio or Siena (40 USD), Suzuki Jeep (60 USD). You can also rent a Yamaha scooter (25 USD). Of course, like it in turkey, you have to bargain a bit.

As for shopping, then Kusadasi is not famous for anything special and we will get it all here, which is much cheaper in istanbul, even at the Grand Bazaar.
