There is nothing much to see in Ordu, but it's a nice port town, and in the summer it is a holiday resort with a Turkish atmosphere, which is not disturbed by mass tourism. We can rest here before waiting for us, almost a full-day trip to Tokatu, swimming in the sea and sunbathing on the sandy beach in the very center of the city or strolling around the bazaar.

Places, which are worth seeing

Army Museum (Pasaoglu Mansion and Ethnography Museum – Pasha's House and the Ethnographic Museum) – open from. 9.00 – 12.00, 13.30 – 17.00, introduction: 0,7 USD – is located approx. 400 m south of the city center, in a nice villa on Hukiimet Cad. We will get there along the street adjacent to the west side of the Aziziye mosque. Having reached the square with the fountain, we go straight ahead (the street slightly turns right) until its end, where we also see a signpost to the museum at a small roundabout (on the left is the Saray Bath). We go left and go straight; we will see the historic house soon, in which they were arranged. We will see here originally preserved, Ottoman interiors from the 19th century, and also quite interesting collections from the ethnographic collection.

We reach the 19th-century Armenian church in the form of a domed basilica along the seaside promenade, heading west. The church standing on the cliff used to be a prison, and today it is the local cultural center.

From the roundabout at Saray Hamami, dolmus buses to the Boztepe hill depart (0,5 USD, 7 min), from where there are wonderful views of the surroundings and the Pontic Mountains. Some tourists say, that it is worth going to Eski Pazar Camii, a mosque from the Seljuk times. The madrasah also belongs to the kulliye, bathhouse and other buildings. The complex was rebuilt in 2. half. Eighteenth century. and no longer presents its original artistic value. The mosque is approx. 4 km southeast of the city. Although it is the oldest mosque in Ordu, it's best to go there only in case of a lot of excess time. We will get there by dolmus or a bus departing from the Kervansaray hotel with the words Favorite or Kabadiiz (0,35 USD). Let the drivers know, that we are interested in Eskipazar, and he will drop us off near him, from where we will reach our destination within a few minutes' walk.
