Events and festivals

At the end of May, Silifke hosts the International Cultural Week, also known as the International Music and Folklore Festival. As part of it, performances of folk song and dance groups are organized.

Drive, orientation, connections

Silifke is a small town, from here we can get here directly only thanks to its location on the main route along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea on the east-west axis (from Adana to Antalya). The bus station is at the main intersection (rondo) roads to Antalya, Konyi and Mersinu, ok. 800 m east of the center. It's easy to get to Alanya from Silifke (9 USD, 6 time ), Confessions (8 USD, 4 time.) i Adany (4 USD, 2.5 time ), including all towns on the way.

West of Silifke, on the road to Anamuru, the town of Tajucu, which is the port of Silifke, stretches out. We can take a ferry from here to Cyprus, do Girne, town in the Turkish part of the island. A return ferry ticket costs approx. 35 USD, and a hydrofoil much more expensive. Accommodation

Because Silifke is a small town, its accommodation base is not very developed. We will not find the cheapest hotels here (the horribly dingy ones), because farmers from the surrounding villages do not come here or for big shopping, ani na bazar, which can only be found in Mersin or Adana (albo Confession). However, a few hotels will suffice, to choose something suitable for you, especially since it is not expensive here. Who really wants to choose, he can go to Tajucu, where there are tons of hotels waiting for guests on their way to Cyprus. However, it is impossible to find anything cheap there.

Gastronomy

It is true that we do not have much choice in Silifke, but here and there (especially closer to the center) we will eat something tasty and cheap. A lot of venues are located at Ataturk Cad., where we can find both locants, as well as better restaurants and fast food restaurants, who get very hungry on the bus, two small pubs on the opposite side of the linen can be recommended. Cad. In the first of them, Óz Arak Lahmacun Saloon, we will buy a great one, warm lahmacun for only 0,2 USD. In the second, Iskembe and Corba Hall, we will eat inexpensive soup (0,7 USD). And Menderes Cad. we will encounter a few patisseries.

The tourist information office is on the north side of the river, near the stone bridge (east of him), at ul. Veli Bozbey 6, extending north of Ataturk Cad. We'll get a pretty good map here, we will also buy a book about the region by the local guide Celal Taskiran (10 USD).
