Hotel Gonul, Meydankapi Mh. (Firefighter Yam) 11, opposite the museum, on its west side, tel.: (368) 261 18 29, fax: (368) 261 44 97. Nice hotel in the very center of the city. Clear, comfortable rooms, equipped with TV. Prices (with breakfast): single room -14 USD, double – 20 USD, triple – 30 USD; in case of cancellation of breakfast, the price drops by 2 USD per person.

Hotel Melia & Kasim 2, Gazi Cad 41, next to the park with the statue of Ataturk, right next to the sea, lei.: (368) 2614210, fax: (368) 2614211. The times of splendor of this large hotel are long overdue, now the standard is close to 1 and the prices were adjusted accordingly. Age (with breakfast) in a single room costs 16 USD, in a double room – 26 USD, in a triple – 35 USD.

Gastronomy

Of course, most restaurants and locals are concentrated around the bay, in the vicinity of Kurtulus Cad., because it is like a tourist basin. We will find both cheaper, and more expensive premises. Surprisingly, there is no locator on the main street of Sakarya – perhaps no one would come here for dinner, with the prospect of having a meal by the sea. Mis Doner, Ugur Mumcu Square, at the roundabout with a fountain near the Melia hotel & Kasim. Delicious pide with cheese or meat (1,4 USD) and other dishes, including quite a fight (1,7 USD).

Sukrii Usta Restaurant, south side of Hukjmet Meydani. Big, traditional locant offering tasty food. Locant portions on average 1,5 USD, more exquisite dishes are of course more expensive, np. Iskender kebab – 2,5 USD.

Korfez-2 Lokanta ve Pide Salonu, next to the Sarikadir hotel, by the bay. We'll eat a nice pide here( 1,5 USD), soup (0,7 USD) or a serving of beans (1 USD) or any of the other locant dishes.

Hey Baby Hey, right next to the bay, east of the Tersane Haci Ómer mosque. A restaurant with an original atmosphere: shaded terrace right on the water. The price for a two-course meal should not exceed 5 USD. Next to a couple of similar restaurants.

Harbor Restaurant (Óz Dlyarbakir Mangan Table), Kurtulus Cad.. 18, vis 5 above the hotel 57. Kebabs in different ways (on average after 1,7 USD) and tasty pide (1,5 USD).

Gunbatimi Cafe-Fastfood, Ugur Mumcu Square 45, next to Mis Doner. Except for the fries, for burgers and pizza, we will also eat doner kebap. Moderate prices.

Tourist information office – only open in summer – it is located in a small booth adjacent to the Melia hotel on the eastern side & Kasim. You can also find out about local and nearby attractions at the Sinop Tours office in Kidis Cad., the street diverging from Sakarya Cad. South (first left, walking from Hukumet Meydani). We will exchange the currency in banks or take it from ATMs at Sakarya Cad. Moreover, T C Ziraat Bankasi is situated on Kurtulus Cad., near the Tersane Haci Ómer mosque. The post office is located at Ataturk Cad., close to the roundabout with a fountain, next to which the Melia hotel is located & Kasim. We will use Internet access in internet cafes located at Gazi Cad., w System Network, Hit Cafe, Palmie Cafe oraz Dreamshop Internet Cafe (everywhere approx. 0,7 USD/hour ).
